Esfandiary (Nima Yushij), the son of Ibrahim Nouri, was born in Yush village of Mazandaran, in 1315 (solar year). He went to San Loui School, and studied French language and studied it very well. He versified poems on his teachers encouragement. He is the founder of modern poems. He used poem as a symbol, to describe the delicate and deep inner feelings. In contemporary poem he is on a par with Roodaki, Sadi and Hatef. Nima knew Arabic language very well. He died on Thursday 16th, in 1338. His most important works are : Nimas Fable, City of Night, City of Morning, Bell, MakhUla, and Manneli. |
