Khoramshahr Triumph, in the Beit-ul-Moqaddas Operations

The third round of the victorious operations of Beit-Ul-Moqaddas aimed at releasinging Khoramshahr was very glorious. The operations started with the code of Ya Mohammad Ibn-e Abdollah [the Holy Prophet (SW)]. In the first step the border base of Kushk was captured. Besides; the enemy forces were dealt a heavy blow in his brigades no: 9 and 238 of the frontier guards. Consequently the large number of the enemy forces was taken in captivity and among them, there were some high ranking Iraqi officers. Following this great victory during which the enemy’s escarp were being captured by the Islamic forces and the Iraqi commanders while being so terrified issued commands on falling back continuously. At 15:06 AM in the morning of May 22, 1982 (Khordad2, 1361), the Islamic combatants surrounded Khoramshahr and they asked the enemy (through using a microphone)

to surrender. Till 9 AM more than 5000 people of the enemy forces were taken to captivity by the Islamic combatants. On Monday the enemy forces tried to recapture the recently released areas through confront attack which were neutralized and another group of the enemy forces were killed or injured and more than 3000 people were taken in captivity. The Divine blessings and also help from the Unseen World were continuously present so that finally Khoramshahr was released.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE ISSUE

Khoramshahr triumph was important because of two reasons:

  1. With such a great victory, the new stage of war initiated. The Islamic combatants through their pondering attacks presented an invaluable gift to the Islamic nation of Iran and also all of the other Muslim nations who were the real lovers of the Islamic Revolution of Iran and had a pin of hope on this Islamic movement. The new stage started for the Iranian brave combatants so that the enemy forces had no other choice except the usage of the chemical weapons.
  2. The enemy knew that this stage of war was obviously different from the previous ones and they could not stand against the massive attacks of the Islamic combatants. The enemy was so helpless and it had no choice except using the chemical weapons. However; this could not last for a long time and there was no way out for the enemy.

  3. This great triumph taught the United Sates of America and the other imperialistic powers and made them take the defending position. Earlier than this they assumed that Iraq would be able to serve as the Gendarme of the region, the role which previously was performed by the previous Iranian king, so that her interests would be served as well as possible. However; after Khoramshahr triumph not only the illusion of the Iran’s capture turned out to be impossible, but also they were afraid of the day in which Saddam’s puppet regime would collapse. Therefore; the Americans were forced to do their best to save Saddam from this undesirable situation.
