The Foundation
Anniversary of The Islamic
Consultative Assembly (Majlis)
|
In 1980 (1359), the first round of the Islamic Consultative Assembly started. The opening of Majlis is among the most important reasons why one should respect the law and appreciat the public votes and opinions in the Islamic system of Iran. The presence of a legislative body like Majlis in a given country is an indicative of freedom in the governmental system of that country. Therefore; the foundation anniversary of the Islamic Consultative Assembly dated Khordad 7 (May 27) in Iran is called the day of law and the week in which this day occurs is known as the the week of Majlis. A special ceremony held all across the country every year. Comparing with its other counterparts all around the world, the Islamic Consultative Assembly possesses the specific characteristics. Here come Imam Khomeini s words addressing the representatives of Majlis on the foundation anniversary of Majlis in 1986 (1365): Today one dare say that under this azure sky, the Islamic Consultative Assembly is the only one, which is based on the votes of millions of people. It makes laws on the basis of the pure will of people without being affected by the capitalists, owners, the rich families, and some deviant activities. Besides; there is no sign of the bully regime of Shah. It seems necessary that while giving the definition of the law and the position of Majlis, a comparison will be made between the Irans Majlis and those of the other countries: According to the political systems, which have the law-making senate (Majlis), law would mean the legal regulation, which would be expressed and legislated within a passed text. In order to be put into practice, the command on performing it, must be first issued by the executive body and would be publicly known through publishing in the official newspapers. The most important characteristic of law lies in its generality and entirety and no one can exclude himself from the domain of law. The law aims are:
The economic policy is the same as the science of wealth. It is about the properties available for the people of the society. Any unsound decision can destroy the sound economic system of the society, in another words in this case, the individuals capitals which should be used for more production, will be led to unsound dealings and broker cases, instead. However; a full account of the economic policy would create a case of equilibrium on the individual and social relationships. And by this way the social economy will be flourished and this is a vital role that is only applicable by law. 4. The social aims, law considers the social aims too and it can play a rather conservative role or vice versa, and it is also a tool for a drastic social change and even a revolutionary one. |
